Description
NOTE: This is Gregory Maguire’s original novel, an adult fiction title with mature themes. It is not the movie storybook or a children’s book.
The untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West
Long before Dorothy dropped in, Oz was home to a green-skinned girl named Elphaba. She was smart, prickly, misunderstood, and destined to be called wicked. Gregory Maguire’s #1 New York Times bestseller reimagines the land of Oz through her eyes, from her unusual birth and her school days with the bubbly, popular Galinda to the political upheaval that turns her into a legend.
This is the novel that inspired the Broadway musical and the blockbuster films. The Collector’s Edition presents it as a deluxe hardcover keepsake. The black cover is stamped in gold and emerald foil with winged monkeys and the witch’s silhouette against the moon. The page edges are sprayed a vivid emerald green, and the endpapers open onto an illustrated map of the Land of Oz. It’s a striking addition to any shelf and a perfect gift for fans of the book, the musical or the movies.
