Most collectors know the Masters of the Universe 200X line by its 6-inch figures. Far fewer know Mattel produced a giant-scale assortment for Masters of the Universe vs. The Snakemen — and it consisted of exactly two figures: an oversized He-Man and this Skeletor. That's the entire large-figure lineup for the modern series.
At 11.5 inches, Giant Skeletor towers over every other figure in the 200X line. The Four Horsemen sculpt that made the modern Skeletor an instant classic — the ridged skull, the corded musculature, the hooded cowl — reads completely differently at nearly double scale, with detail work you simply cannot see on the standard release. Put him next to a shelf of 6-inch Evil Warriors and he stops being one of the collection and starts being the centerpiece of it.
Released in 2003 in limited numbers and never reissued, the giant-scale Skeletor is one of the tougher 200X pieces to track down sealed — and his He-Man counterpart routinely commands north of $200 on the open market.
